A contract for a new marine emergency helicopter to cover the east coast has been awarded by the Department of the Marine and Natural Resources to Bond Ireland. The Sikorsky S61N should be in service by July 1988 and will be based initially at Dublin Airport. It will later be moved to Baldonnel. The existing Air Corps Dauphin service for the east coast, operating from Baldonnel, will be relocated to the south/south east coast.
