Business leaders in Omagh have received a "substantial donation" from the Nestle food company, which will go towards rebuilding the commercial heart of the town.

The chairman of Nestle UK, Mr Peter Blackburn, and the managing director of Nestle Ireland, Mr Paddy Marron, presented the five-figure sum during a visit to Omagh District Council offices. The contribution will go towards establishing a town centre office, which is being jointly promoted by the chamber of commerce and industry and the local traders' association. The financial support will also assist in the appointment of a business development director for the town.
