Nenagh's 10-week water crisis appears to be over as test samples from a replacement supply in the town have been found free of chemical traces.

The all-clear from the health board chemical tests, carried out in an English lab, on the new well on the Old Birr Road is regarded as a major breakthrough.

But Nenagh UDC is still awaiting results from tests today before making any commitment on the replacement supply.
