Naas factory fire leads to N7 traffic disruption

FIRE SERVICES were fighting a large blaze at a disused factory near Naas, Co Kildare last night

FIRE SERVICES were fighting a large blaze at a disused factory near Naas, Co Kildare last night. Smoke from the former concrete factory caused traffic disruption on the N7 road. Gardaí did not believe that anyone had been injured in the incident.

The alarm was raised shortly before 9pm and gardaí and fire brigade from Naas attended the scene.

The disused factory is at a slip road just off the N7/Naas road near the large Perpetual Motion sculpture.

Motorists on twitter posted photographs of a large dark plume of smoke billowing from the factory.

AA Roadwatch issued a wanring for motorists to take care in the area because driver visibility may have been impacted from the fire.

It said that traffic was “extremely slow” both ways as a result of the fire.
