Statement from the family of Raonaid Murray:
A year has passed since Raonaid was savagely murdered. Despite the efforts of the police and a large reward put forward by concerned people her murderer has still not been caught.
Remember what this murderer did. This murderer brutally took Raonaid's life and made her last moments a terrifying nightmare, viciously attacking Raonaid and leaving her to die alone in the dark.
The horror of Raonaid's final moments has haunted each day of the past year for us. The pain we feel at not having her here with us is beyond words. About now she would have been looking forward to her first year in college with her friends but this, with all her other dreams and plans, has been cruelly taken from her.
While Raonaid lies in her grave her murderer is free to walk the streets. We know nothing will bring Raonaid back to us but the thought of her vicious killer roaming free adds to our agony. This killer must be caught but for this to happen the police need your help. We are asking anyone with any information at all to please come forward and contact the police.
