London - A former aide and confidante of the Duchess of York murdered her boyfriend after he refused to marry her, prosecution counsel told a British court yesterday.

Ms Jane Andrews hit businessman Mr Thomas Cressman on the head with a cricket bat and then stabbed him with a sharp knife from the kitchen, counsel told the Old Bailey. Ms Andrews (34) has pleaded not guilty.
