An Irish murder suspect has been handed over to Scottish authorities after losing a marathon battle to prevent his extradition.

A university lecturer, Mr William Beggs, a native of Belfast and formerly of Moira, Co Armagh, was yesterday flown from Rotterdam to Edinburgh.

Mr Beggs (37) is wanted for questioning in connection with the killing of a Scottish teenager.
