Mulhall remanded over killing

Kathleen Mulhall (52), from Richmond Cottages, Ballybough, Dublin 3 was arrested yesterday in relation to the killing of Farah Swaleh Noor (38) on March 20th, 2005.

She appeared at Dublin District Court charged with aiding and abetting in the concealment of a crime under section seven of the Criminal Law Act 1997.

The dismembered and decapitated body of Mr Noor (38), who was Kathleen Mulhall's boyfriend, was found in the Royal Canal near Ballybough Bridge, Dublin in 2005.

Two detectives had travelled to London to interview Kathleen Mulhall and she had agreed voluntarily to return to Ireland with them. She had been living in the United Kingdom for the past few years before she arrived back in Dublin yesterday afternoon.

Detective Sergeant William Hickey, from Mountjoy Garda Station told the court she was cautioned and charged last night after agreeing to attend the station.

Det Sgt Hickey said Ms Mulhall made no reply when charged. No application for bail was made and Judge Ann Ryan remanded her in custody to Mountjoy Women's Prison to appear on February 20th.

Linda Mulhall (33), a mother of four, was found guilty in October 2006 of the manslaughter of Mr Noor. She has appealed the severity of her 15-year sentence. Her sister Charlotte (27) was found guilty of murdering Mr Noor. She has lodged an appeal against her conviction.
