A key witness in the Morris tribunal has been convicted on a drink driving charge at the District Court in Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan, today.
Noel McMahon, a former detective with the Garda Síochána, was fined €1,000 and disqualified from driving for four years.
Judge Flann Brennan heard McMahon had a previous conviction for drinik driving in 2001 when he was disqualified for two years.
McMahon, who was not in the courtroom, pleaded guilty through his lawyer.
