Chisinau - Voters in Moldova head for the polls tomorrow to elect a new parliament that is expected to be dominated by communists who could then be in a strong position to gain hold of the presidency.

The vote has been called early because of the outgoing parliament's failure to elect a president in four attempts last December.

Mr Petru Lucinsky, the head of state whose mandate expired last month, has remained in the post in a caretaker capacity.
