The proceedings: The reports published yesterday were the third, fourth and fifth which the tribunal has produced to date, with three more to be heard.
Hearings began in March 2003. The first module dealt with the issue of concealment of explosive substances for the purpose of fraudulent finds by some gardaí. The medical evidence as to how the late Richie Barron died was interposed.
The investigation into Mr Barron's death was the next module, including issues as to Garda informants and extortion calls.
The two reports came out in 2004 and 2005 and heavily criticised Garda procedures and individual members in Donegal.
The next three modules, the subject of yesterday's reports (Silver Bullet, Burnfoot and Ardara), began in June 2005 and ended earlier this year.
With five substantive reports completed, the tribunal is now well into the hearing of the module about all 12 detentions in relation to certain investigations, notably into the death of Mr Barron, by the gardaí in Donegal. This module will resume in September.
This will be followed by another module into anonymous allegations of Garda corruption at the highest level. This is under investigation by the tribunal and papers have been delivered.
The last module will look into the effectiveness of the Garda Complaints Board and the serious harassment of citizens.
