The National Women's Council of Ireland (NWCI) has received £23,000 from the Government towards funding a report on child-care.

The Minister of State at the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform, Ms Mary Wallace, said she had also made £50,000 available to the council to cover expenses incurred in making their new premises wheelchair-accessible.

Funding from the Department for the NWCI in 1997 totals £170,000 and the 1998 Book of Estimates includes an allocation of £200,000.
