Minimum wage rises to €8.65 an hour

The national minimum wage has increased to €8.65 per hour, the second time the rate has been increased this year.

The national minimum wage has increased to €8.65 per hour, the second time the rate has been increased this year.

It was increased to €8.30 from the beginning of January. This is the sixth rise in the minimum wage since it was introduced in April 2000.

Wage rates for under 18s or to first-time job entrants, which are below the minimum wage, have also increased.
