Tony Dobbin judged his ride on Mini Sensation to perfection today sweeping into the lead at the final fence before streaking away for victory in the Coral Welsh National at Chepstow.
Four were still in with a shout in the closing stages, including favourite Gunner Welburn, but Tony Dobbin's mount, owned by JP McManus and trained by Jonjo O'Neill, found a fantastic turn of foot considering the bottomless conditions to score in tremendous fashion by seven lengths.
Chives, under a big weight, ran a cracker for second after a mistake at the last scuppered any slim hopes of pegging back the winner.
