Huntsville - A Mexican national convicted in the US state of Texas for rape and murder has been executed by lethal injection, prompting "profound regret" from Mexico, which had pleaded for clemency.
Miguel Flores (31) was pronounced dead on Thursday night approximately two minutes after he was injected with a lethal chemical. On Monday, the Mexican consul general in Houston, Texas, Mr Rodolfo Figueroa, appealed to Governor George W. Bush to stay the execution.
