Mr Eddie McGrady, an SDLP MP, has called on the British Prime Minister to investigate the possible increase of nuclear waste shipments to Sellafield through the Irish Sea.
In a letter to Mr Blair he said if British Nuclear Fuels continued to seek new reprocessing contracts, it would lead to the transportation of more shipments of separated plutonium in mixed oxide fuel returning to the country of origin by sea.
