July sales at McDonald's restaurants open at least 13 months rose 5.7 per cent in the United States, boosted in part by smoothies and frappes from its McCafe line of drinks, and rose 5.3 per cent in Europe.
Same-store sales rose 10.1 per cent in the Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa (APMEA) area.
Systemwide sales, which include business at all restaurants, rose 6.8 per cent, or 8.3 per cent on a constant currency basis, the fast food chain reported.
In June, McDonald's reported a 4.8 per cent rise in global same-store sales. Results from the United States in June were up 3.7 per cent, while Europe gained 4.7 per cent and APMEA jumped 6 per cent.
