Concert promoters MCD are to provide a written report of their management of the recent Barbra Streisand concert at Castletown House to Kildare County Council within three months, the council has said.

Council officials and representatives of the Garda, HSE and ambulance service met MCD earlier this week about the concert on July 14th, which was strongly criticised by many fans who experienced lengthy delays in gaining access to the site or who found their seats occupied on arrival.

The concert was one of the most expensive held in the country with some tickets costing more than €500. MCD issued an apology on the morning after the event which cited traffic problems, weather conditions and "opportunistic fans" taking seats as the causes of the problems.

A spokesman for the council said yesterday that it would be unfair to comment on the discussions held with MCD in advance of the report. However, he said MCD had undertaken to lodge the report in advance of the three-month deadline.

The report must state how the promoter complied with the 134 conditions of the licence for the event, several of which relate to traffic management, parking and security.
