Co operative marts throughout the State will identify cattle in the show rings which have been tested pre movement for bovine TB and brucellosis, when the new bovine TB scheme is introduced on April 1st.

Mr Michael O'Dwyer, president of ICOS, the umbrella body for the Irish co operative movement, said that it would be taking this action because of the ending of the compulsory 60 day pre movement test under the new scheme. It added that it was taking the action to satisfy the needs and requirements of a big number of buyers of cattle.
