A young Co Donegal man charged with the manslaughter of Garda Robbie McCallion pleaded not guilty to the charge at a Circuit Court sitting in Letterkenny yesterday.

James McGrenaghan (19), of Gortnatraw, Kerrykeel, Fanad, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving on March 26th, 2009, causing the death of the 29-year-old garda at Tara Court in Letterkenny.

Mr McGrenaghan pleaded not guilty to the endangerment of Garda Joanna Doherty and Garda Shane Lavelle, who also responded to a call to Tara Court on the night of March 26th.

Mr McGrenaghan admitted the charge of unlawfully taking a vehicle on the same night at Tara Court.
