Gardaí in Mullingar are hunting an armed man who held up a betting shop in the centre of the town yesterday.
A masked man walked into Ladbrokes with a knife and ordered staff to hand over cash.
A Garda spokeswoman said the raider escaped with a small sum and no one was injured. "We don't know yet if he escaped on foot or what direction he headed in, but we will be studying CCTV footage during the investigation."
