A 48-year-old man remains in a critical condition in Cork University Hospital following an explosion at the Tarbert ESB plant in Kerry on Thursday.

The man's colleague, 38-year-old Patrick McCrohan from Doon, Tralee, who was also injured in the accident at the Tarbert plant, died yesterday morning.

Investigations have begun into the cause of the explosion. A third man who was also injured in the incident is said to be in a stable condition in hospital.
