A man has died in Britain after being stabbed in the chest inside a flat, police said today.

A man has died in Britain after being stabbed in the chest inside a flat, police said today.

Police were called to the flat in Barrows House, Tweentown, Cheddar, in Somerset, shortly before 11am.

The 30-year-old man was found with a stab wound to his chest and he was airlifted to Western General Hospital but died from his injuries before he arrived.

A 30-year-old man was arrested nearby in connection with the attack at about 12.45pm and was taken to Bridgewater police station, where he is being questioned.

Detective Inspector Erica Last said: “This was a nasty assault which has cost a man his life.

“Officers in the area acted extremely quickly and a man was arrested within two hours of the attack.

“He is currently in custody where officers will be speaking to him about the attack.
