A man is recovering in hospital after being shot in a loyalist area of north Belfast

A man is recovering in hospital after being shot in a loyalist area of north Belfast. The 41-year-old victim was shot in the legs on Wednesday, an RUC spokesman said. He was found in in an alleyway off Glasgow Street at 8.40 p.m. and was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital.

"It certainly has all the hallmarks of what we would call a paramilitary- style shooting," the spokesman said.
