The RUC has appealed for witnesses following the fatal shooting of a man in Newtownards, Co Down, last night.
The man was shot dead in a pub in the town shortly after 11 p.m. An RUC spokesman said nothing further was known about his identity or the circumstances of the shooting. However, the senior RUC officer investigating the incident condemned the shooting. It was too early too make any further comment other than to appeal for witnesses and to ensure the public that a full investigation would take place, he said.
