A man tending to fish cages was rescued by a fish-farm vessel off the Connemara coast yesterday after his boat sank

A man tending to fish cages was rescued by a fish-farm vessel off the Connemara coast yesterday after his boat sank. He was picked up by an inflatable craft and brought to safety.

The Irish Coastguard Sikorsky helicopter from Shannon, the Aran Island lifeboat and the Costelloe Bay coastguard unit had already been alerted by the Coastguard Marine Rescue Co-ordination Centre.
