Police were today granted a further 36 hours to question a man arrested over a murder in Northern Ireland more than a decade ago.

The 49-year-old was arrested in the Cambridge area on Monday to face questions about the death of Lorraine Mills in Ballymena, Co Antrim, in May 1995.

The 36-year-old mother-of-two was found dead at her home in Staffa Drive.

The man is being held at the PSNI’s Serious Crime Suite in Antrim. He was arrested by PSNI detectives working in conjunction with officers from Cambridgeshire Police.
