Man remanded on terrorist charge

A Derry man charged with the unlawful possession of information likely to be useful in a terrorist offence made no bail application when he appeared at the Special Criminal Court yesterday.

Mr Gerald Anthony McFadden (31), of Rathlin Gardens, Creggan, was remanded in custody until June 25th.

Mr McFadden faces a charge that on April 15th, at Glebe, Donegal, he had information about an RUC man that was likely to be useful in the commission of a serious offence. On April 15th, Mr McFadden was arrested for drink-driving. The court heard that during a search of his property at Donegal Garda station gardai found the note about the RUC man in a wallet.
