Man questioned after Belfast pipebomb find

A man was being questioned by police today after a pipebomb device was discovered in south Belfast.

A man was being questioned by police today after a pipebomb device was discovered in south Belfast.

Army technical officers made safe the device which was found in an alleyway beside Knockbreda Park in the Ballynafeigh area.

Police at Musgrave Street are investigating after the viable device and a quantity of ammunition was found at about 9.45pm last night.

One man was arrested in a follow-up search and was detained for questioning.

Police appealed for anyone with information or who noticed any suspicious activity to contact officers at Musgrave Street.
