Man pleads not guilty to murder

A Dublin man pleaded not guilty at the Special Criminal Court yesterday to the murder of a man in the city seven years ago.

Mr Richard Tobin (49), of Somerville Drive, Crumlin, denied murdering Mr John Bolger (31) at Upper Clanbrassil Street on July 22nd, 1994.

He also pleaded not guilty to the unlawful possession of a semi-automatic rifle and six rounds of ammunition with intent to endanger life on the same date.

Mr Justice Johnson, presiding, remanded Mr Tobin until tomorrow when the trial is expected to go ahead.
