A reclusive elderly Galway man was tied up and beaten to death to get him to divulge the whereabouts of his savings, a prosecution lawyer told a murder trial jury yesterday. In the Central Criminal Court, before Ms Justice Carroll, Mr Patrick O'Connor (37), of Poulboy, Kilgainey, Clonmel, Co Tipperary, has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Mr Tommy Casey (68), who died between January 15th and 23rd 1996, at his home in Oranbeg, Oranmore, Co Galway. The case continues.
