It is understood the man, in his early 60s, was killed when an animal feed trailer he was operating overturned.

The accident happened in a townland at Carnagh East, Kiltoom, Co Roscommon, shortly before 9pm last night.Gardaí and officers from the Health and Safety Authority are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The victim was taken to University College Hospital in Galway where a postmortem will be carried out.
