A man has been seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision in Co Westmeath.
The man was the sole occupant of a van when it collided with a car some two kilometres outside Mullingar on the main Dublin to Sligo road.
He was taken to Mullingar General Hospital where his condition is described as critical. The driver of the car was not seriously injured in the crash.
The road has been closed and all traffic is being diverted through Multyfarnham.
