A man was being treated in hospital today after a gun attack in Northern Ireland.

A man was being treated in hospital today after a gun attack in Northern Ireland.

He was shot in both legs by a gang of up to four men who burst into his home in Laburnum Row in the Twinbrook area of west Belfast.

Before opening fire in the attack last night, the men assaulted their young victim. The injured man's condition in hospital was not believed to be life- threatening.

Police seeking a motive for the incident said there was possibly paramilitary involvement.
