Man in hospital after being set alight

A Polish man has been hospitalised after being set on fire by a gang of youths in Limerick city.

A Polish man has been hospitalised after being set on fire by a gang of youths in Limerick city.

The victim suffered serious burns to his face and hand when he was attacked at around 2am yesterday in the Russell Road and Dock Road area.

A group threw flammable liquid on the man as he made his way home from a night out.

The man was taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital and was later transferred to Cork University Hospital, where his condition is serious but not life threatening.
