A man has been remanded in custody charged in connection with the murder of Séamus O’Byrne (27), who was shot dead outside a house in Tallaght, Dublin last year.

Gareth O’Brien (32) appeared before Tallaght District Court today.

He was remanded in custody to Cloverhill prison until next week.

Mr O’Byrne was originally from Drimnagh, but had recently been living at Tymon North Park in Tallaght where he was shot in March 2009.

His partner (26) tried to grab the gun off the killer and was wounded in the leg.
