Man hospitalised after Tallaght shooting

A man in his twenties was brought to hospital last night after he was shot at his home in Tallaght.

A man in his twenties was brought to hospital last night after he was shot at his home in Tallaght.

The 23-year-old received injuries to his chest and arm after he was shot a number of times at his home at around 8pm this evening in the Allenton estate in Tallaght, County Dublin.

It is understood that the man opened the door of his house to a gunman who shot him a number of times.

The man was taken by ambulance to Tallaght Hospital where he is understood to be in a serious condition.

The scene of the shooting has been preserved for technical examination.

Anyone who may have been in the Allenton estate at the time of the shooting or those with any information is asked to contact the gardaí in Tallaght.
