A man was arrested today about a robbery in Co Tyrone last year in which two post office workers were held hostage.

The man (21) was detained in Strabane, where there have been a series of armed robberies.

It is understood the man is being questioned about the kidnapping of two women linked to a raid on a sub post office in Strabane last October.

The women were seized by a gang at a flat. One was driven off, while the second - a Post Office employee - was ordered to remove cash from the post office in the town's Melmont area.

The money was then left in a church car park in Co Donegal.

A substantial amount of money was taken.
