Gardai in Naas released without charge a man detained in connection with the murder of two youths whose bodies were recovered from the Grand Canal in January. The man, from west Dublin, was arrested under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act on Wednesday with two other men who remained in custody overnight.
The detentions brought to 30 the number arrested in connection with the murders. Patrick Murray (19) and Darren Carey (20), both from Ballyfermot, are believed to have been victims of a Dublin drugs gang.
