Man held over Bangor machete murder

A man is being questioned today about the murder of a man in a machete attack in Co Down last year.

A man is being questioned today about the murder of a man in a machete attack in Co Down last year.

Mark Christie (36) was hacked to death in the street by at least six men last August.

He was chased through the Kilcooley estate in Bangor before being surrounded and attacked. He had been given a suspended jail sentence on assault charges a week before his murder.

The suspect (27) was arrested in Bangor this morning and was taken to Antrim to be questioned.
