A 50-year-old man has been arrested in the North in connection with the investigation into the murder of businessman Geoff Kerr last month.
The man is being held at Antrim Road, where he is helping police with their inquiries, a PSNI spokeswoman said.
Mr Kerr (60), who was a member of the Ulster Unionist Party, was shot in the chest in the hallway of his home on April 27th by two gunmen posing as takeaway food delivery staff.
Police are following a lead that the shooting resulted from an attempted armed robbery but turned into murder.
Mr Kerr’s wife, Sally, and the youngest of his four sons, were present at the scene of the murder. Four others arrested in connection with the investigation were earlier released by the PSNI.
A 33-year-old man was remanded in custody on Monday in connection with the murder.
