Man held over Antrim bar murder

A man in his 30s remains in police custody tonight after the murder of a father of two outside a Co Antrim bar.

A man in his 30s remains in police custody tonight after the murder of a father of two outside a Co Antrim bar.

The victim, named locally as Darren Murphy, died after an assault on Main Street in Armoy in the early hours of today.

Two men were arrested in connection with the murder but one has since been released without charge.

Mr Murphy, who was in his 30s, was from the village of Stranocum, near Armoy.

It is understood that he had been out socialising with friends when an incident occurred outside the bar.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
