A man who raped a Dublin woman after hustling her on a Dublin city centre street has been sentenced to nine years in prison with three suspended at the Central Criminal Court.
Julian Hobanel (23), Kippure Park, Finglas, a native of Romania, was convicted by a jury last November of rape and false imprisonment of the woman in a city centre apartment block on November 4th, 2006.
He had pleaded guilty to robbery of the woman on the same date.
His co-accused Radu Grierosu (21) of Island Street, Dublin, who was convicted of the same charges by the same jury, had his sentence adjourned to next week.
