Man for court over NI bomb

A man (22) will appear in court today charged with causing an explosion at a police station in Northern Ireland.

A man (22) will appear in court today charged with causing an explosion at a police station in Northern Ireland.

He is also accused of hijacking and false imprisonment, possession of a firearm and membership of a banned organisation.

It follows the dissident republican car bomb attack at Strand Road barracks in Derry in August last year.

During the incident on August 3rd last year, a taxi was hijacked and packed with explosives. The driver was ordered at gunpoint to leave the car at Strand Road police station.
