Man for court over Dublin death

A 44-year-old man is due in court this morning in connection with the death of a woman in Dublin at the weekend.

A 44-year-old man is due in court this morning in connection with the death of a woman in Dublin at the weekend.

Mary Ryan (37), originally from Drogheda, Co Louth, was found at her home on Sherrard Street with serious injuries on Saturday. She was taken to the Mater hospital, where she later died.

A man was arrested yesterday in Dublin and was held at Mountjoy Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Gardaí launched a murder inquiry when a postmortem showed Ms Ryan had been assaulted.
