A 27-year-old man was killed and a woman was injured today in an early morning stabbing attack at a house in Waterford city.
A 24-year-old man was arrested in connection with the death in the Glen area of the city shortly after wh attack which took place at about 5.30am this morning.
Gardai said detectives were investigating all circumstances surrounding the
death and a post-mortem examination is being carried out at Waterford Regional Hospital by the State Pathologist Professor Marie Cassidy.
The woman was being treated at the same hospital and gardai said her injuries
were not life- threatening.
The arrested man was detained for questioning under section four of the
Criminal Justice Act.
