A man in his forties was killed and his passenger seriously injured in a car crash on a stretch of motorway near Newbridge, Co Kildare early this morning.
The driver lost control of the car and struck a signpost at Hillsborough, Newbridge.
The injured man was taken to Naas General Hospital. The crash happened on the northbound section of the motorway at around 6 a.m.
