A 26-year-old man denied the 1998 murder of a Connemara schoolgirl when he was arraigned at the Central Criminal Court yesterday.

Mr John McDonagh (26), of Carraroe, Co Galway, pleaded not guilty to the murder of Siobhan Hynes (17), of Sconse, Lettermore, Co Galway, on December 8th, 1998, and also pleaded not guilty to two other charges in connection with the same incident. Mr McDonagh will go on trial today before Mr Justice Smith.
