A 22-year-old man was tonight charged with the murder of Irish-born Rachel Moran who went missing while walking to her flat in the early hours of New Year's Day.

Humberside Police named the man as Mr Michael Little, of Nash Court, Hull. He will appear before Hull Magistrates in the morning.

A second man (23) also arrested in connection with Rachel's murder was tonight released on police bail to report to a police station in March.

Rachel's body was found on Tuesday by police searching properties on the Orchard Park Estate in Hull.

Rachel had last been seen in the early hours of New Year's Day when she left her parents' home in Hall Road, Hull, to walk the short distance back to her home in Saxcourt.
