A 51-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Mr Patrick Shaughnessy (28) in Galway yesterday.

Mr Michael Riley from 75 Corrach Bhuí, Rahoon, Galway, was arrested under Section IV of the Criminal Justice Act yesterday and charged with murder before Galway District Court today. He was remanded in custody until tomorrow.
Mr Shaughnessy’s body was found in the kitchen of a house in Rahoon shortly after 9 a.m. suffering from stab wounds.
